04Questions

Got questions?

Yes. RecipeScan is an AI food scanner that identifies dishes, ingredients, menus, and nutrition labels from a single photo. Point your camera at any food and the app returns the dish name, full recipe, and per-serving nutrition in seconds — no typing or searching required.
RecipeScan correctly identifies dishes with approximately 90% accuracy across common cuisines, and falls back to a short multiple-choice prompt for ambiguous plates. Nutrition data is sourced from the USDA FoodData Central and Nutritionix databases, and is typically within 10–15% of lab-measured values for recipes with explicit measurements.
Yes. RecipeScan estimates calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, and sodium per serving by identifying ingredients and portion sizes in your photo, then cross-referencing the USDA FoodData Central database. Use the photo flow for prepared dishes, or paste a written recipe into the nutrition analyzer for the most precise numbers.
RecipeScan uses computer-vision models trained on millions of food images. The model analyzes color, texture, shape, plating, and visible ingredients, then matches the image against a recipe database. The same vision pipeline powers six scan modes: dish recognition, fridge scanner, nutrition analyzer, recipe digitizer, menu scanner, and label scanner.
RecipeScan is in closed beta and letting cooks in one batch at a time. Public launch on iOS, Android, and web is targeted for Spring 2026. Join the waitlist to reserve your slot — founding members keep RecipeScan free for life.
Founding members (people who join the waitlist now) keep RecipeScan free for life. After public launch the free tier includes 10 scans per month, Plus is $4.99/month for 100 scans, and Pro is $9.99/month for unlimited scans. Early waitlist members are grandfathered into founding pricing forever.
Yes. The Recipe Digitizer uses OCR trained on handwritten text and handles cursive, faded ink, stained cards, and aged paper. If the AI can’t read a word, it asks you to confirm — for example, "Does this say cumin or cinnamon?"
RecipeScan supports vegan, vegetarian, keto, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal, kosher, nut-free, low-sodium, and high-protein diets. Set your preferences once and every recipe is filtered and adapted automatically. Allergen detection flags gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, eggs, and shellfish in scanned recipes and labels.
