Welcome to RecipeScan. By using our app, website, or services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

RecipeScan is an AI-powered food scanning service that identifies dishes, analyzes nutrition, suggests recipes, digitizes recipe cards, scans menus, and reads nutrition labels. We provide food intelligence — not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.

2. Account Registration

You may use some features without an account. Creating an account requires accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use RecipeScan for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer our AI models
Scrape, crawl, or data-mine our services
Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
Use the service to generate false nutrition or health claims
Share your account credentials with others

4. AI-Generated Content

RecipeScan uses AI to identify foods, generate recipes, and calculate nutrition. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. RecipeScan's nutritional information is for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional dietary advice.

We recommend verifying critical nutritional information — especially for allergen detection — with the food manufacturer or a qualified professional.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

RecipeScan offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected. You may cancel at any time — your subscription remains active until the end of the billing period. Refunds are provided in accordance with applicable app store policies.

6. Intellectual Property

Recipes you create or digitize remain your intellectual property. By using RecipeScan, you grant us a limited license to process your content for AI analysis. We do not claim ownership of your recipes, photos, or personal content.

The RecipeScan name, logo, and service are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without written permission.

7. Health and Allergen Disclaimer

RecipeScan is not a medical device. Our nutrition calculations are estimates based on databases and AI analysis. Always confirm allergens directly with food manufacturers or restaurants. RecipeScan cannot guarantee the accuracy of allergen detection, particularly for restaurant menu items.

If you have a serious food allergy or medical dietary requirement, use RecipeScan as a supplementary tool — not your primary source of information.

8. Limitation of Liability

RecipeScan is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the service, including but not limited to health issues arising from reliance on AI-generated nutritional information.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings, which will remove all your stored data within 30 days.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of RecipeScan after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
