Food Photos
When you scan food with RecipeScan, your photos are processed by our AI to identify dishes, ingredients, and labels. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to save them to your recipe collection.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data to improve RecipeScan, including which features you use, scan frequency, and app performance metrics. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Dietary Preferences
If you set dietary preferences, allergies, or health goals, this information is stored securely in your account to personalize your experience. You can delete this information at any time.

Third-Party Services
RecipeScan uses the following third-party services for specific functions:
- AI Processing: We use AI vision models to process food photos. Photos are sent securely and deleted after processing.
- Nutrition Data: We reference the USDA FoodData Central database and Nutritionix for nutritional information.
- Payments: Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe and RevenueCat. We never store your full credit card number.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics (privacy-focused, cookie-free) for website analytics.
Children's Privacy
RecipeScan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
